From $1M in Asks to $15K Total: Defense Delivers

Gina Kandarian-Stein and Mark Capell received their verdict in a case where:

Plaintiff One asked the jury to award $350,000. Instead, the jury returned a complete defense verdict awarding zero damages. Notably, this came after a pre-trial settlement offer of $40,000, which was declined.

Plaintiff Two sought $650,000. The jury, however, took a far more measured approach. Aligning closely with defense counsel’s argument, they awarded $15,000 for past medical expenses and pain and suffering, and nothing for future damages. Prior to trial, they had been offered $50,000 to settle.
