$1.41M Demand Ends in Defense Verdict After 15 Minutes

Elham Rabbani & Adrian Douglas received a defense verdict in a case where plaintiff alleged negligence due to a vehicle collision in which their vehicle struck defendants vehicle in a side-swipe accident. Plaintiff alleged the accident was caused by defendants’ negligence when they drove across three lanes of traffic in front of Plaintiff. Plaintiff had a total knee replacement of their left knee in 2024 and is scheduled to have a total knee replacement for their right knee in April of this year.

At closing, Plaintiff asked the jury for $1.4 million in damages from defendants due to negligence.

The jury began deliberations at 3PM and returned with a No Negligence verdict. The total deliberation time was 15 minutes.

Plaintiff’s 998 demand was policy limits of $250k

The jury votes were 11-1 for no negligence. The juror that said there was negligence also said that there was no substantial factor.
